Measure 112 – Breast Cancer Screening

Audit Criteria

When we’re reviewing your clinicians’ data, it may be helpful to know what we are looking for in order for us to verify to CMS that your data is accurate and complete. Measure 112 requires documentation that a patient was screened for breast cancer on the date of service OR screened for breast cancer at least once within 27 months prior to the end of the performance period. For the 2019, performance period, screenings going as far back as October 1, 2017 will be accepted for performance of this measure.

This documentation may be found in the patient’s medical record. The relevant document should be made available to the auditor for the patient requested.
